Design of Compact Multi-Band Bandpass Filters
Dual-and tri-band filters will be designed using stubloaded resonators in this paper.Short stub loaded resonators areemployed to design dual-band bandpass filter.Short and openstubs loaded resonators are applied to obtain ai-band response,the first and the third passband frequencies of the tri-band filtercan be flexibly controlled by tuning the lengths of the stubs,whereas the second passband frequency is fixed.Additionally,tri-and quad-band bandpass filters will be designed usingassembled resonators.Assembled resonator constructed by astepped impedance resonator (SIR) and a common half-wavelength resonator is employed to obtain tri-band responses.The SIR is designed to operate at the first and the thirdpassbands and the other resonator is designed to operate at thesecond passband.Assembled resonator constructed by two SIRis employed to obtain quad-band responses.One SIR isdesigned to operate at the first and the third passbands and theother SIR is designed to operate at the second and the forthpassbands.Theoretical predictions are verified by theexperimental results of four filters.
