Analysis of Coupling Efficiency for the Double Layer Shielding Cavity with Aperture

TLM(transmission line model)is used to researchthe coupling characteristic of electromagnetic pulse and it isextended to calculate the coupling efficiency of double layershielding cavity through apertures.The effect of single layerwith aperture is compared with double layer with apertures onthe coupling efficiency of electric field; the calculation resultsshow that shielding efficiency can be improved greatly withdouble layer shielding.At the same time,the model is extendedto include higher-order transverse electric (TE) and transversemagnetic (TM) cavity modes in the transmission line model andremains very simple and computationally efficient.Thefinite-difference time-domain (FDTD) result is used to comparethe results.
