Optimization of Radome Boresight Error Using Genetic Algorithm

In this paper,the genetic algorithm (GA) combinedwith ray tracing (RT) method is employed to optimize thedesign of the dielectric radome.The thickness profile of theradome wall is chosen as the optimization parameter and theminimizing of the boresight error (BSE) of the anterna-radomesystem is the optimization object.The thickness variation insome region of the radome is proposed for optimal design.TheBSE of the optimization radome is significantly reduced.Theradome after the partial thickness optimization in this paper iseasier to fabricate than that with traditional optimization.Theoptimal boresight error and thickness profile of a single-layeredand an A-sandwich radome are presented.
