2-D Maximum Entropy Method of Image Segmentation Based on Differential Evolution
Two-dimensional(2-D) maximum entropy image segmentation method is analyzed in this paper. For the problems that the method is complex and time-consuming during evaluating threshold, a 2-D maximum entropy image segmentation based on Differential Evolution (DE) is presented. The proposed method can fast search the maximum entropy value in the search space using differential evolution algorithm, and takes the corresponding gray value of pixels and the average gray of regions as the threshold for image segmentation. The experiment results indicate that the proposed method can not only obtain the perfect performance of segmentation, but also greatly improve the calculation speed comparing with the traditional method.
