Volume grid deformation code for numerical simulation of a flapping foil

As a nature-inspired technology,flapping foils have attracted much attention due to that they are capable to produce thrust with high efficiency.For this reason,flapping foils have been used as the thrust engine of micro-air vehicles.In design stage of the micro-air vehicles,computationalfluid dynamics (CFD)is typically employed for the numerical simulation of the flapping foils and should consider large deformation of moving boundaries.Therefore,it becomes a challenging problem in the CFD analysis to develop robust,efficient grid deformation algorithms for the large deformation.
