Statistical Depolarization of Cascaded Fiber Rings

摘要：

The statistics of the depolarizer composed withcascaded single-mode fiber rings is investigated theoreticallyand experimentally.With the number of fiber rings increasing,it is found that the probability of DOP(degree of polarization)less than 0.01 will increase largely with arbitrary polarizationconditions of the input light and fiber rings.Meanwhile,experimental results show its potential in reducing thepolarization noise in polarization-sensitive optic fiber systems.
