A New implementation of the Uniaxial Perfectly Matched Layer

A novel implementation of the uniaxial perfectly matched layer (UPML) absorbing boundary condition is proposed for truncating the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD)lattices.Inthe proposed formulations,the diagonal tensor of the UPML is separated from the relative permittivity εr(ω)and permeability μr(ω)of the FDTD computational domains and then its inverse is discretized along with the curl of the electric field E or the magnetic field H.Inconsequence,in the FDTD programme,the UPML is implemented independently from the simulation of the FDTD computational domains. Two numerical tests have been provided to validate the proposed algorithm.
