Research on the Reflection, Absorption and Transmission of Electromagnetic Waves for Inhomogeneous Magnetized Plasma

In This paper We study the reflection,absorption and transmission of polarized electromagnetic waves (EM-waves)forA steady-state,inhomogeneous plasma slab. The results illustrate that there are more reflection,more absorption and less transmission when the collision frequency is near the EM-wave frequency. Meanwhile,the magnetic fields have an influence upon the results. For the right-hand polarized EM-wave,when the magnetic field grows,the peaks of power curves move to the low collision frequency. The reflection and absorption decrease,while transmission increases. For the left-hand polarized EM-wave,when the magnetic field grows,the peaks of power curves move to the high collision frequency.The reflection and absorption increase,while transmission reduces.We also find out that the reflection decreases when the plasma density or the angle of incidence reduce. The effective frequency band width of absorption can be broadened and the reflection and absorption of EM-wave have a maximum under some conditions.This characteristic is remarkable when the EM-wave frequency is low.
