Biotreatment of Deinking Wastewater with White Rot Fungi under the Rocking Culture Conditons

Two effluent samples from the press and flotation of a deinking process were treated with white rot fungi under the rocking culture conditions.Significant growth of the white rot fungi and degradation of the pollutants were observed after the first 1-2 days of the treatment.The maximum CODcr reduction(57.1%)was achieved on the 7th day of the treatment at pH 4.0~4.5.Results of GC analysis suggested that the pollutants in the effluents from the press and flotation of the deinking process were mainly low-molecule-weight substances.
