Electroplating Wastewater Treatment with a Two-Double Biological Aerated Filter(T-DBAF)for Reuse
A new two-double biological aerated filter was developed for advanced treatment of electroplating wastewater for reuse. The method for the start-up was a double times start-up,and it only lasted 20 days, the removal ratios of CODer and NH4+-N were above 85% when the start-up was finished.During the steady-state conditions, when the hydraulic loadings and air/water ratio were 1.20 m3/m2·h and 4:1,the removal ratios of CODer and NH3-N were 90.13% and 92.5%,respectively,the effluent stability reached the standard for reuse.Comparing with traditional BAF,the period for backwash of.the new BAF averaged 10 days, and the recovery time was efficiently shortened.
