Study on Enhancing Bleached Softwood Kraft Pulp/Polypropylene Fiber Sheet Using Dual Polymeric Strengthening System

摘要：

Addition of polypropylene fiber(PP)can reduce the paper strength in the papermaking process.The methods of enhancing strength of paper sheet mixed polypropylene fiber were studied in the article.A kind of dual-polymer strengthening system comprised of cationic polyelectrolyte PAE(Polyamideamine epichlorohydrine)and anionic polyelectrolyte CMC(carboxymethyl cellulose)was focused.The results showed that when the polypropylene fibers were added to pulp,the apparent density,breaking length and bursting index of paper sheet decreased,but the tearing index firstly increased,then fell down.The refining of pulp improved bonding strength,but did harm to dewatering and increased energy consumption.Addition of PAE or CMC alone improved the strength of sheet,including breaking length,bursting index and tearing index,while the PAE/CMC dual-polymer strengthening system was more effective than PAE or CMC alone.
