Biobleaching of Poplar Kraft Pulp by New Xylanases

Pretreatment of poplar kraft pulp by new xylanases can reduce the dosage of chlorine,and improve pulp bleachability.AU xylanases which were suitable for the pretreatrnent of poplar kraft pulp were chosen,and the optimal conditions of the xylanase pretretment were selected in the paper.The influence on the bleachability of poplar pulp in different pH value,temperature and xylanase dosage were studied.The results showed that the optimal pH of AU-1 xylanase pretreating was 6 in which the brightness of bleached pulp was 77.5% ISO,an increase of 1.8% ISO than that of non-pretreated pulp,and the viscosity 620.2 mL/g.The optimal pH of AU-2 xylanase pretreating was 8 in which the brightness of bleached pulp was 77.7% ISO,an increase of 0.8 % ISO than that of non-pretreated pulp,and the viscosity 578.1 ml/g.The optimal pH of AU-3 xylanase pretreating was 8~9 under the temperature of 70℃ and the 10 IU/gdosage of AU-3 xylanase in which the brightness of bleached pulp was 79.0% ISO,an increase of 2.1% ISO than that of non-pretreated pulp,and the viscosity 581.1 ml/g.Effects of AU-3 and AU-1 xylanases pretreatment on the results of CEH bleaching were better than that of AU-2 xylanase,and AU-3 xylanase was alkali-resistant.Biobleaching of the pulp by xylanase could reduce the dosage of chlorine and decrease pollution.
