Pilot Study on P-RC APMP Pulping of Poplar Treated by White-rot Fungi

Poplar chips were treated by two white-rot fungi (Phanerochaete chrysosporium and Tranetes versicolor)separately, and then they were pulped by two P-RC APMP sequences (dosages of H2O2 3% and 6% respectively).Pulping energy consumption, pulp strength properties and optical properties were tested. The result showed that after the white-rot fungi treatments, the pulping energy consumptions were reduced(in the two sequences, energy savings for the Phanerochaete chrysosporium treatment were 31.62% and 14.37%,and for the Tranetes versicolor treatment,11.00%and 14.37% respectively),the strength properties of pulp was improved(at 350 CSF,Ph.c and T.v pretreatment improved the breaklength of pulp by 25% in sequence 1; in sequence 2,Ph.c treatment improved the breaklength of pulp by 6.1%,T.v treatment improved the breaklength of pulp by 10.4%; in the two sequences,Ph.c treatment improved the burst index by 18.18% and 20.00%,T.v treatment,10.91% and 28.00%),and the brightness was lost a little, but the bleachability was improved.
