Study on the Corrugating Paper Produced by Chemi-mechanical Pulp Using Whole Kenaf Stalk
Fine paper and paperboard can be produced using chemical pulp of kenaf,but the pulp strength is low and the spent liquor needs to be treated further.In this paper,Kenaf was used to produce chemi-mechanical pulp and then to produce corrugating paper,aiming to improve utilization of materials and reduce pollution related to the spent liquor.Through orthogonal test,the optimized conditions of chemi-mechanical pulping using whole kenaf stalk were obtained as: temperature 80℃,cooking time 40min,NaOH charge 8%.Under these conditions,desirable properties were obtained as follows: pulping yield 84%;pulp strength properties when beaten to 42°SR: tensile strength above 100N,tearing strength 13.84mNm2·g-1,ring crush 26.1N,folding endurance 253.5 times,density 0.609g·cm3.
