Analysis of Chemical Components and Fiber Morphology of Guangyechu

This paper analyzed the chemical components and fiber morphology of Guangyechu bark and core.The chemical pulping of white bast Guangyechu was also studied,using six different methods,including NaOH-AQ,KP-AQ,ammonium sulfite,magnesium sulfite,neutral hydrogen-sodium oxalate(NPO)and alkaline hydrogen-sodium oxalate (APO).The results showed that the fiber length of the bleached Guangyechu bast amounted to 6.51mm,the ratio of the length to breadth was large,and it was possible to make high quality chemical pulps.The ash content,alcohol-benzene extractives,lignin and 1%NaOH extractives were found to be mostly derived from the Guangyechu black bark,therefore the black bark should be separated before pulping.The pectin content of Guangyechu whole bark was very high,which influenced chemical pulping.Among the six methods of chemical pulping,the APO was found to be the best.Its yield was 62.40%,whiteness was 71.4%ISO,and permanganate number was 8.79.
