Study on Utilization of Acetic Acid Lignin in Synthesis of Polyurethane Foams
Acetic acid lignin(AAL),which was isolated from Eucalyptus viminalis by acetic acid pulping, was used to replace part of PEG in the synthesis of polyurethane(PU)foams. The structure of AAL was characterized by 31P-NMR spectrum.Thermal stability of ALL-based polyurethane foams were investigated by TG/DSC.The results showed that AAL had the typical structure of polyol. It was indicated that the thermal degradation temperature of PU foams with AAL was lower than samlpe without AAL.The mass residue of PU foams at 600℃ was approximately 7.4% higher than that without AAL.It was concluded that with AAL contents increasing, the degradation between the phenolic hydroxyl group in AAL and the isocyanate group become prominent and AAL act as a hard segment in PU network formation.
