REMOVAL OF MIXED GASEOUS POLLUTANTS BY AMBIPOLAR PULSE MATCHING WITH CONFIGURATION AND ARRANGEMENT OF REACTOR

This work focuses on the optimal matching between ambipolar pulse high voltage supply characteristics and electrode configuration of reactor in order to improve energy input and decomposition characteristics of VOCS. In the experiment, mixed benzene series(benzene and m-xylene)are introduced into dielectric barrier discharge reactor combined with ambipolar pulse high voltage. The introduction of input power, instantaneous power and duty cycle has great significance in the measure of the kinetic energy of electrons and active particles. Results indicated reasonable pulse electric capacitor(2nF)shows high instantaneous power leading to good gas removal effect.Input power and duty cycle increase as the increasing frequency. At the same condition of discharge gap and residence time, the small size reactor has the densest discharge plasma ion and gains high removal rate of benzene and m-xylene (80.5%,100%).It is indicated that reasonable matching between ambipolar pulse high voltage supply parameters and configuration parameters of reactor has important influence on energy input and decomposition of VOCs.
