EFFECTS OF THE DYNAMICS OF CATHODE SPOT ON TRICHEL PULSES

摘要：

Negative corona discharge has been investigated in air at atmospheric pressure in the point-to-plane electrode configuration in Trichel pulse regime.Results of oscillography of Trichel pulses presented in form of amplitude-pulse time separation diagrams let separate influence of gap conditions from influence of surface properties on Trichel pulses.It was found that topography of the cathode tip decisively affected the amplitude of the Trichel pulses，whereas the pulse frequency depended primarily on the discharge gap and voltage.
