Novel Case-Table-Searching Algorithms for Optimizing Intra Prediction 4x4

RealVideo9 is one of the most popular video formats on the Internet,so it is necessary for multi-media chip developers to support this format.But it is quite a great challenge for them because of the difficulty in its real-time implementation.In order to realize real-time decoding on CC1100 ,this paper proposes a series of novel Case-Table-Searching algorithms focusing on the optimization of RealVideo9 intra prediction 4x4,which also supports extended utilization in H.264 intra prediction 4x4.The proposed Algorithm 1 is designed to save the CPU cycles exhausted by each pixel prediction mode while Algorithm 2 is to remove the judgments used in the phase of data preparation.Experimental results show significant improvement in terms of both average CPU performance and the worst case.
