Application of Isolated Crude Enzyme Solution from White-rot Fungi in Bio-RMP Technology

The changes of refining energy consumption,pulp properties and bleachability of aspen RMP after treatments with crude enzymes isolated from different white-rot fungi and different conditions were investigated in this paper.Enzymatic treatment on the aspen mechanical pulp was carried out between the first refining stage and second refining stage.The results indicated that the appropriate enzymatic treatment could markedly reduce refining energy consumption,improve pulp strength and optical properties,while the bulk was basically unchanged.Moreover,appropriate treatment of the pulp with the crude enzyme could dramatically improve subsequent peroxide bleachability and result in higher pulp brightness,strength and a little lower light scattering coefficient and opacity.The enzymatic treatments had the most important contribution to the improvement of burst index,which was increased by 50% or so.Among all the 6 white-rot fungi,including Lg-9,BYBF,Sdu-4,Lentinus lepideus,Pc-5,and Schizophyllum commune,it was found that Sdu-4 and Lentinus lepideus had better treated results than the other fungi.
