INTRODUCTIONApoptosis is a process of genetically programmed cell death.This distinct form of cell death plays an essential role in embryonic development and metabolic homeostasis.At present,it is known that apoptosis demands energy supplied by ATP for caspase activation,enzymatic hydrolysis of macromolecules,chromatin condensation,and apoptotic body formation.
