Optimization of technological parameters by cutting resistance analysis on bucket wheel excavators

The interaction of the cuttings tools with the soil/rock is a very important process in mining. The right cutting tool design and the right technology of application decide about the energy consumption,the wear and the excavation costs. The paper presents the last research results of the optimization of cutting tool design and application on large bucket wheel excavators.
