Oil & Gas Well-logging Analysis in the Paraná Basin

In a process of geologic research of a sedimentary basin,as the Paraná River Basin, the drilling for oil or gas wells represents the phase of direct exploration. To obtain a definition of the potentiality of well,in the production of hydrocarbons,a methodology called Formation Evaluation was used. It is considered that the well logging is the most efficient available tool, for the evaluation of wells. The well logging became the practical international procedure, each time more applied, after the opening of a well until its final depth and to evaluate uninterruptedly it by means of the analyses of profiles. The companies that had worked for the enterprise were enabled to execute well logging of up to 6,000m depth, and its surface units had computers for the processing. The obtained data had been recorded in magnetic tapes and optic films. In the period between 1980 and 1982,a total of 27 wells by the related Enterprise were opened in the Paraná basin, and, bad been run about 672,000 m of profiles.
