Studying the scale effect and uniformity of grade parameter using geostatistical approaches
Grade uniformity is an important factor which influences different parameters such as small blockssize, grade estimation method and mill efficiency quantity. In this paper we presented a geostatistical model which calculates a representative elementary volume (REV) for grade parameter. Also this model investigated the grade behavior and uniformity at different scales. As a case study the grade information of a copper mine in Iran was investigated using this model. The results indicated that the REV size of grade parameter decreases with grade uniformity increase. So REV was introduced as an indicator parameter for studying the grade uniformity and scale.
