Landscape pattern changes in mining town: a case of Cishan Town in China
The sharp changes of landscape pattern in mining town are the direct reflection of mining activities.Revealing the changing rule is good to adjust the strneture of ecological restoration and to promote the ecological environmental health. Taking Cishan Town in Hebei Province in China as an example and based on the land use data in the year 1996 and 2006,this paper analyzes the landscape pattern, makes the landscape map and divides the landscape zones through MAPGIS6.7, ARCVIEW3.3 and FRAGSTATES3.3. Further, this paper gets the indices such as patch size index, patch shape index, landscape diversity index, and spatial heterogeneity index. The result shows: ① in the past 10 years, the landscape elements have a complex change and an interactive conversion, which differs from the previous landscape pattern completely;② The increase of landscape diversity index, spatial heterogeneity index and patch shape index in the study area indicates that the landscape tends to be diverse, fragmental, and irregular; ③ the decrease of the patch shape index of mining land (by margin of 1.09) indicates that the mining activity has a continual accumulative action on landscape. Based on that, this paper puts forward the corresponding measures on the sustainable development in mining town.
