Definition of yield load on small punch test by means of double slope of elastic curve

摘要：

The small punch test (SPT) is an important and practical test technology applied in the materials with almost Non-Destructive method. An empirical relationship is normally used to correlate the results from small punch with uniaxiai tensile tests. In this paper,a new method of Double Slope of Elastic Curve,which based on the method of data processing in the traditional mechanical test of thin plates,was adopted to define the yield load of SPT,the analytical formulations presented a good agreement with experimental load-displacement curves on different materials,and the equation applied to the evaluation of the tensile stress-strain curve from SP load-displacement responses gave accurate prediction of the mechanical behavior.
