Research on corrosion behavior of 16MnR steel and its welded joints in high-temperature naphthenic acid solution
For corrosion behavior of 16MnR steel and its welded joints in high-temperature naphthenic acid solution,experimental tests and microstructure observations were conducted. A special experimental device for static high-temperature naphthenic acid corrosion (HNAC) was designed and built. Multi-group immersion corrosion tests were carded out under two conditions,one condition of constant total acid number (TAN) and varying temperatures and the other condition of constant temperature and varying TAN. A database of corrosion rates of 16MrtR steel in high-temperature naphthenic acid solution was initially established. The variation law of corrosion behavior of 16MnR steel and its welded joints in high-temperature naphthenic acid solution was revealed. Field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) was used in corrosion morphology observation of corroded specimens. Results show that,the annual average corrosion rate of 16MnR steel in high-temperature naphthenic acid solution was quite great and corrosion resistance of welded joints was generally worse than base metal.
