Reliability analysis of ice-covered wire subjected to wind load
In order to calculate the reliability of ice-covered wire subjected to wind load,the formula of multi-component load stress was deduced and the corresponding reliability calculation model of uncertainty load was put forward. As the stress formula is transcendental equation and the load is non-normal distribution in the model,a computational procedure of reliability based on Newton iterative method and Paloheimo method was developed to solve the problems. To verify the calculation accuracy,the simulated program (ANTHILL),which is based on the Monte Carlo method,was also applied to simulate the reliability. The results indicate that simulated values are similar to the analytical values. In addition,the same laws of changing in the ice thickness with reliability (T-R) curve were obtained.
