Study on stress intensity factor of a finite width laminate
According to the modified Westergaard stress distribution ahead of the crack inside a finite width laminate,a simple but closed form of stress intensity factor is proposed for the inclined load. The difference of the stress intensity factor values between the deduced formula and the finite element analysis is generally less than 10%,which indicate that the solutions of KⅠ and KⅡ proposed in this study are acceptable for the engineering application. The effects of the geometric configurations and elastic ratios on the two types of the stress intensity factor are also considered in this study.
