The Determination of Geochemical threshold of soil Cd in Daxing,Hefei Using Fractal Method

It is of great significance to determinate the thresholds of elements in soil for geochemical evaluation of environment, because the traditional way of determining thresholds is only suitable to the element data that is extremely complicated. The spatial distribution of chemical elements which is extremely complicated,possibly has the characterise of multiffactal distribution.The background and anomaly values of elements usually show independent power index relationship.The fractal method of concentration-area mode was used to determinate the thresholds of Cd element in soil of Daxing in Hefei,a typical industrial district.And the thresholds was 0.672mg/kg,and basing on this thresholds,selecting the anomaly extension.The results were compared with those that are obtained by traditional method(X+2σ).The results obtained in this study indicated that the anomaly extension selected by fractal is to control the main industrial plant which 1eads to Cd element pollution in area effectively and reasonably.
