The Experimental Study on Activated Carbon Adsorption of Phenol and Copper Ions in Micro-polluted Source Water

This paper studies using activated carbon as the adsorbent to treat phenol and copper ions,in order to find the adsorption effect resulting from pollutant concentration, reaction temperature and adsorption velocity. We choose the 95% ethyl alcohol and 5% hydrochloric acid as the regenerant solution to perform desorption,to find the eriects due to desorption velocity. The experiment shows that using activated carbon adsorption for the removal of phenol and copper ions has resulted best, when the quality concentration of phenol has been 2mg/l at 25℃,while copper ion was 30mg/l at 55℃. When the velocity of adsorption and desorption has been 6BV/h and 3BV/h respectively,it has performed in a better result. In the experimental temperature range, the copper ions of activated carbon adsorption equilibrium data using Freundlichs equation may better fit.The correlation coefficient could achieve a broad 0.992.
