Dynamic Study on the Removal of Cadmium Ions by the Desulfurization Products of Manganese Ore in Upflow Fixed-bed Reactor
The heavy metal pollution is a serious environment problem which our society faces.Oxidized manganese ore is an important desulfurizing agent, which has been already applied widely in the industrial fields. The desulfurization products of oxidized manganese ore are to be researched and utilized. In this paper the desulfurization products of oxidized manganese ore was filled in the fixed bed and the dynamic experiments were camed out in order to discuss emphatically the effect of influent water rate,pH.the concentration of Cd2+,and the particle size of minerals on the removal efficiency of Cd2+ and the exchange capacity with its desulfurization product. The results show that it made cadmium ions (even initial concentration was 10mg/L) achieve the national drainage standard by desul furizing products of manganese ore,and there was the low recycling value of Cd2+ because its removal capacity was 4.62kg/T.It is useful to increase the exchange capacity of Cd2+ by decreasing influent filter rate, reducing initial concentration, enhancing pH,and minishing the particle size of desulfurizing products. The mechanism is that there are many MnS in the products and its solubility is far higher than that of CdS,so the ion exchange reaction can occur as soon as possible and it could be decontaminated and callback of Cd2+.
