Simulated Experiment of Removing Nitrate from Groundwater by Denitrobacteria
Landfill is one of main sources of groundwater contamination. An effectively strain, anaerobic denitrobacteria was isolated and screened out from landfill leachate. The strain is round and milky white with smooth surface and tidy edge. When observed under 40 times magnification light microscopy, the strain is spherical,Gram-negative.Under 30℃ and anaerobic condition, the nitrate removed by the strain is studied using tartaric acid kalium sodium as the carbon source in Erlenmeyer flask. The period for the stains are cultivated is 212 hours. And the maximal concentration of the stains is 7.35×108 cfu.ml-1.Results show that tartaric acid kalium sodium could be used as a carbon source for denitrification ofthe strain, the removal efficiency of TN is 81.2% in the Erlenmeyer flask. The removal of nitrate mainly happens in the exponential phase.
