Preparation and Characterization of Fe-ACF/TiO2 Composites and their Photocatalytic Activity
In this study,we have prepared Fe-ACF(activated carbon fiber)/TiO2 composites with titanium(VI)n-butoxide(TNB1 as titanium source to activated carbon fiber pre-treated with jron compound through the impregnation method,As a basic property for the composites, the results of the textural surface properties demonstrate that there is a slight decrease n the BET surface area of composite samples with an increase of the amount of iron compound treated. The surface morphology for the Fe-ACF/TiO2,composites was characterized by SEM,which presents to the porous texture on the composites and the homogenous compositions for Fe and titanium dioxide distributed on the sample surfaces. The phase formation and stmctural transition for the iron compound and titanium dioxide were observed in the X-ray diffraction patterns for the Fe-ACF/TiO2 composites. The cherfiical composition for the Fe-ACF/TiO2 composites was investigated with EDX,which showed stronr peaks for C,O,Fe and Ti element. From the photo degradation results, the Fe-ACF/TiO2 composites showed the excellent removal activity for the COD due to photocatalysis of the supported TiO2,radical reaction by Fe species and adsorptivity and absorptivity of ACF.
