FLUID DRIVEN FRACTURE PROCESSES IN FEM/DEM ANALYSIS
Crack propagation, fracture and fragmentation are an integral part of many industrial processes ranging from mining to powders, ceramics and structural engineering. FEM/DEM has recently become a method of choice for numerical simulations involving fracture and fragmentation. In the past, mainly dry fracture models have been incorporated into FEM/DEM. In this work fluid driven fracture processes are being incorporated into the FEM/DEM and relevant numerical solutions developed.
