COUPLING ANALYSIS OF NONLINEAR AND NONHOMOGENEOUS PROBLEMS WITH FINITE ELEMENT METHOD

A robust Finite Element Method (FEM) was developed to solve nonlinear and nonhomogeneous problems.The changes of structural stiffness are coupled with nonlinear damage evolution,and the computing procedure could be conducted with commercial software package ABAQUS.The iterative formulations of structural stiffness coupling with damage evolution were derived.Nonlinear damage evolution equation is developed in finite element model via a USER DEFINED program,and coupling analysis of damage with stress level in structure could be performed efficiently.The damage degree in a rectangular plate under single shearing force is simulated with the developed method.The computed results coincide well with ones via traditional method.
