DYNAMICS AND VIBRATION CONTROL OF A SELF-SENSING AND ACTUATING ROTATING CANTILEVER PLATE WITH ACLD TREATMENTS

A rotating cantilever plate fully treated with active constrained layer damping(ACLD)has been discussed.The dynamics and vibration control of the self-sensing and actuating plate are analyzed through simulation and experiment.Motion equations ofthe cantilever plate rotating about its central rigid are derived from the Lagrangian formulation in conjunction with finite element method(FEM)and the dynamic characteristics and vibration control of this rotating cantilever plate are then simulated.Numerical results have demonstrated the self-sensing and self-actuating capability of ACLD as well as its effectiveness in the suppression ofvibration ofthe rotating cantilever plate.
