SEMI-ANALYTICAL THREE-DIMENSIONAL ELASTICITY SOLUTIONS FOR MULTI-DIRECTIONAL FUNCTIONALLY GRADED PLATES
3D elasticity solutions are presented for orthotropic multi-directional functionally graded (MDFGM) plates using the state-space-based differential quadrature method (SS-DQM).Material properties are assumed to vary arbitrarily through the thickness, but their variations within the in-plane directions are modeled as exponential functions. The through-thickness variations of stress and displacement fields are solved analytically via the state space method. When coupled with the differential quadrature, the effects in the in-plane directions are treated in an approximate manner, and hence semi-analytical solutions for the plates are obtained.Effects of material gradient indices on static behavior of plates are investigated.
