THREE-DIMENSIONAL NUMERICAL MODELING FOR STRUCTURAL PLANES AROUND ROCK UNDERGROUND ENGINEERING BY GeoSMA-3D METHOD

The rock mass is a kind of cracked media which is cut through by many structural planes, for instance, joint planes, dislocation, and fracture etc. These structural planes are the weak region for most rock damage or failure process, and affect the property of rock stability notably in the realistic rock mass, especially when external force exist,so structural planes become the key point to study the rock mass stability. In this research, firstly the famous Monte Carlo method is adopted to simulate tens of thousands structural planes, then the simulation method for structural planes is explained by means of GeoSMA-3D.The structural planes are treated as infinite planes, according to the definition of dip and dip direction, the normal vector can be obtained. In order to provide distribution type and statistical characteristics of the structural planes,we can rebuild the distribution model using GeoSMA-3D code.In the end,the three-dimensional images for structural planes is displayed.the three-dimensional model for Uniform,Negative exponential,Poisson and Gaussian distribution and for structural planes model and trace lines are displayed using GeoSMA-3D.
