A HYBRID STRESS FINITE ELEMENT METHOD FOR NONLINEAR ANALYSIS OF COMPOSITE MATERIALS
Most composite materials often behave nonlinearly to an extent.In order to take full advantage of the material and structure of such composites,the development of the techniques to predict their nonlinear behavior is necessary.In this study a new hybrid stress finite element for nonlinear analysis of composite materials is presented.In addition,an enhanced simple fixed-point iteration approach for stress field computation is proposed to overcome the difficulty of convergence for large magnitude of external loads.The effectiveness of the present method is demonstrated through a numerical example.
