NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF STRESS TRANSFER IN CONCRETE BEAMS BONDED WITH FRP SHEETS

The interfacial bonding behavior between FRP and concrete is the key problem for external bonding of fiber reinforced polymer or plastic (FRP) sheets to strengthen concrete structures. In this paper,3D Realistic Failure Process Analysis code considering the heterogeneity of material on a meso-scale is employed to investigate the bonding behavior in FRP-concrete interface based on the single shear testing results.Numerical simulations agree well with the testing results in laboratory and visually reproduce the complete debonding failure process of FRP-concrete.
