1-D STRESS AND 1-D STRAIN BASIC EXPERIMENTS AND RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EOS AND CONSTITUTIVE EQUATIONS

In impact dynamics,1D stress and 1D strain experiments are regarded as basic approaches for investigation into dynamic material behaviors. In this paper, the stress and strain states, loading and unloading paths in these experiments of impact dynamics are analyzed. The nature and correlativity of constitutive models from the two experiments are studied.By means of FEA,the effects of EOS and constitutive models on calculation results of plate impact and Taylor impact are presented. From point of view of structural mechanics,in bars, beams, plates, shells, etc, there exist free interfaces from which the rarefaction waves are excited and which are always kept free. This characteristic result in the low pressure state in these structures. In analysis of dynamic responses of these structures, the elastoplastic constitutive models are important.
