THERMAL BEHAVIOR OF MICROWAVE-RADIATED HYDROGEN LOADED FIBER BRAGG GRATING
In this paper we have focussed on the effect of microwave irradiation on the parameters of FBGs for high temperature sensing application. The Si-OH is an essential part of the fabrication for molecular-water induced high temperature resistance FBG.Our experimental results showed that the Si-OH absorption increases after FBG was microwave irradiated.Changes of Bragg peak in the hydrogen-loaded germanium-doped FBG after microwave irradiation were observed.A strong reflectivity increment (circa 6 dB) of the molecular water induced FBG was recorded at 1000℃ between microwave-radiated and non-radiated FBGs; moreover,it was also observed that the highest erasing temperature for the microwave radiated hydrogen-loaded FBG device could reach higher than 1100℃.
