TENSILE FRACTURE OF HYBRID COMPOSITE REBAR
Based on the shear-lag theory,a hexagonal model of fiber-bundles was established to study the tensile stress redistributions of a rod hybrid composite rebar which consists of carbon,aramid,glass and steel fibers.A micro-statistical analysis of the multiple tensile failures of the rebar was then performed by using the random critical-core theory.The predictions of the tensile failure strains of the rebar coincide relatively well with the existing experimental results.
