INVESTIGATION OF MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF CONDUCTIVE ASPHALT MIXTURES USING INDIRECT TENSILE TEST

It is currently interesting to make good use of asphalt mixtures as solar collector for the heating and cooling of adjacent buildings as well as for snow-melting of pavements.Thermal conductive fillers are utilized to make asphalt mixtures conductive so as to improve the efficiency of asphalt solar collector.The effects of conductive fillers on the strength of asphalt mixtures were investigated by Indirect Tensile Strength Test (1TST).The results show that lower mean values of indirect tensile strength and failure stiffness modulus are obtained corresponding to the higher graphite content.
