COMPUTING LOWER AND UPPER BOUNDS FOR J-INTEGRAL IN FUNCTIONALLY GRADED MATERIAL
We use goal-oriented error estimation of finite element method for solving the lower and upper bounds for the J-integral in functionally graded material (FGM).The error of the J-integral is composed of a quadratic component and a linear component. The quadratic component is bounded by the energy norm of the error scaled by an explicit continuous function. The linear component is bounded by an appropriate combination of the energy norms of the error in the displacement and the adjoint solution. An example is given at the end of the paper to verify the present method.
