PERMISSIBLE PRESTRESS VALUE IN TECHNOLOGY OF RC BEAMS STRENGTHENED WITH PRESTRESSED CFL
Carbon Fiber Laminate(CFL) is a sort of fiber reinforced polymer alternative to fiber FRP sheet and plate.By applying a prestress to CFL,the material can be used more efficiently since a greater portion of its tensile capacity is engaged.But it is not good with high prestress level.This paper determined the permissible prestress value based on theory in three areas including effective prestress,interfacial stress and mode of failure.The high level of prestress will cause crack on the tensile concrete and high shear stresses on interface between concrete and CFL.In order to avoid the failure mode of CFL brittle failure,the permissible prestressed value is also given.
