AN EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL INVESTIGATION OF CUSHIONING MECHANISM OF MOULD PULP STRUCTURE
Based on structural type of moulded pulp and loading speed,as well asmaterial property of paper pulp,the structural cushioning mechanism was usedto optimize the structural design of moulded pulp.The cushion course ofmoulded pulp is designed by utilizing the energy absorption in the process ofthese protrusions deformation.In addition to the experimental test of mouldpulp samples,FEM simulating investigation is also carried out by using theprotrusions similar to those testing results.According to the numericalsimulating investigation,the result shows the relationship between stresses ofmould pulp with structure parameters,such as the thickness,the length ofside-wall bearing load,the number and relative position of the protrusions etc.
