TRANSIENT HEAT CONDUCTION IN FUNCTIONALLY GRADED MATERIALS DUE TO LOCAL THERMAL SHOCK

This paper is concerned with the theoretical treatment of transient temperatureresponses involving ihnctionally graded materials due to nonuniform heat supply.Ananalytical solution is presented for three-dimensional temperature field byLaplace-Hankel integral transformation,in which the uncoupled linear heatconduction theory is adopted.The physical properties of materials are assumed toexponentially model,some numerical results for the temperature change are shownin figure.The results show that the effects of the volume fraction distributions ofconstituent materials on the thermal responses are very significant.
