FINITE ELEMENT METHOD FOR ANALYSIS OF BAND STRUCTURES OF 2D PHONONIC CRYSTALS
In this paper,a finite element method (FEM) is presented for calculating the bandstructures of two-dimensional phononic crystals formed by square arrays of cylindersembedded in an epoxy host.Complete and accurate band structure information andtransmission spectra are obtained to identify the band gaps and eigenmodes.Theresults indicate that the finite element method is precise for the band structurecomputation of the phononic crystals and can reduce computing time to a certainextent.
